Abstract

Producing a modified L-form bacterial strain, comprising culturing a bacterial strain adapted to a complex culture medium at alternate temperatures between 20 and 40 deg C, and fermenting the strain when hydromechanical stress of the cells increases, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an L-form bacterial strain produced by the novel method; and (2) producing a gene product, comprising: (a) culturing the novel transformed bacterial strain transformed with a nucleic acid sequence encoding the product; and (b) expressing and isolating the gene product.
