Abstract

This paper examines regional policy evaluation with special reference to Wales, in particular the importance of measuring regional policy and grant aid efficiency in the context of complex governance issues. Various measures of policy efficiency and data requirements are analysed. Conclusions, placed in the context of economic development needs in Wales, assess a future research agenda for measuring the effectiveness of regional policy.
