Abstract

Methane-deuterium exchange reaction was analyzed for a range of metal oxides. The metal oxides were evaluated for their ability to activate methane/deuterium exchange as a probe reaction. Ga2O3 was found to be the most active material followed by ZnO. Results indicated the possible contribution of oxide basicity in the activation of methane.
