Abstract

This book concerns the Harman Dali episode in the Turkmen epic, Görogly. Drawing upon a wide variety of cross-cultural sources and demonstrating an eclectic array of interpretive tools, the publication represents a significant contribution to the growing literature on the musical traditions of Turkmenistan in particular and of Central Asia in general.
