Abstract

A high intensity ultrasound generator was used to prepare thermoelectric powders from a crystalline material source. Significant morphological change was observed, including a reduction in the size distributions of the resulting particles, the larger of which developed a smoother appearance. Data indicates that a lower size limit is obtainable which may, through variation of the experimental conditions, offer a tuneable size distribution. A system has been devised to facilitate the processing of material powders.
