Abstract

Despite the arrival of dedicated 24-hour news channels, the expansion of online news and influence of social media platforms into the 21st century, millions of people continue to tune into television news bulletins. But News and Politics suggests that the broader values of 24/7 media are influencing this long-standing format, since evening bulletins today communicate news as it happens, with reporters asked to deliver instant live analysis.
