Abstract

Aqueous solutions containing hydrotropes, micelles, and vesicles are discussed in detail in terms of aggregate structures and dynamics. Typical kinetic schemes developed to analyze data for organic reactions in colloidal solutions, and some of their pitfalls, are described. Recent advances in the understanding of kinetic medium effects on organic reactions resulting from hydrotrope and surfactant assemblies are analyzed in detail.
